Bali is such a magical location, and the perfect place for you to enjoy some amazing health retreats, hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, villas and surf breaks. The Inspired Active Tribe has their own insight into Bali, giving you their opinion on the top five places to visit whilst in Bali.
If you are a surfer (or in my case married to a surfer) then this is the place to visit. You have the choice of a number of surf breaks (between Uluwatu and Dreamland) which are surrounded by cliffs and which provide the perfect backdrop for a nice cold cocktail or Bintang while you watch the waves roll in and the sun go down. The cafes, restaurants and villas all provide amazing food, not to mention the spa and yoga retreats. Staying right on the cliff tops when you have kids is a little difficult as you have to watch them 24/7, so if you intend on taking the kids then get a villa slightly back from the cliffs.
Whilst you are there try and visit the Uluwatu Temple, Sunday session at Single Fin Bar, Finns Beach Club and try a yoga session at the Uluwatu surf villas
Well a visit to Bali isn’t a visit unless you stop off in Seminyak for a night or two and hit the boutique shops, cafes and bars. They are endless. Treat yourself to a day of shopping and try out a few cafes for breakfast and lunch before heading out to one of the amazing night spots. If you have kids, well get a babysitter for the day, they are cheap and really good, the Balinese love kids.
These are a few of my favourite restaurants, cafes and night spots:
Potato Head, Revolver Coffee, Motel Mexicola, Ku De Ta, Sisterfields, Ginger Moon, Chez Gado Gado.
Well what can I say about this little piece of paradise. It’s a small little island 40mins speed boat ride from Sanur (East side of Indonesia). It has some amazing scuba diving, surfing breaks, yoga and SUP riding. It’s a quiet little island with lots of little restaurants. You can hire motor bikes and ride around the island. This little island is perfect for the family who wants to get away and relax, there is something to do for everyone.
Nusa Dua is a hotbed of luxurious accommodations, golf resorts, fine dining and relaxing. Surfing and diving are popular activities for the active people and there is an array of spas, galleries and boutiques to check out. If you have kids and want a little R&R then there are plenty of babysitters and resorts that have kids clubs. And if you are like us and love a good workout while you are away then there are plenty of amazing gyms within the hotels.
This beautiful serene landmark is situated upland from the hectic and busy life of Kuta, Seminyak and Legian. It is surrounded by rice terraces and hillsides with ancient temples and royal palaces. It is the perfect place to go and relax in nature, indulge yourself with a spa treatment, walk through the market stalls and galleries or try out the many yoga places. My recommendation is ‘The Yoga Barn’. It has something for everyone, from beginners to experienced yogi’s.
